The vineyards at Murfatlar are situated on the sunny shores of the Black Sea in Eastern Romania.
Climate / Quality of the soil:
The climate is continental, with average annual sunlight of 2200 hours, average annual temperature between 9.5-10.5°C and the average rainfall of 500-600 mm.
The lithologic substratum is made of gravel, sand and clay with a layer of loess.
Winemaking process:
Hand harvesting at full maturity; grapes carefully selected
De-stemming
Gently crushing
Short skin maceration in vertical tanks
Clearing
Controlled fermentation at 16°C during 20 days
Bottling and labelling
Wine composition:
Alcohol: 13.5%
Total acidity: 6.60 g/L
Residual sugar: 2.88 g/L
Winemaker comments:
The wine displays a pale straw colour with green hints; nice aromas of gooseberries, mangetout, melon and delicate notes of freshly cut grass. The feature of the wine is its freshness. The well-structured palate, and balance between acidity and flavours, is ending in an elegant note of citrus.
Food matches:
This wine is terrific with seafood (oysters and shrimp), salads, fresh goat cheese and herbs.

Best served between 8-10°C
